How do I get a price for a Home Survey?

Use the Quick Quote panel on the Home Page. Just enter the purchase price of the property you are buying, the first part of its postcode (eg AL8) and your email address. The price will be displayed on screen and we will confirm this to you by email.

How do I arrange a Home Survey?

Just follow the three easy steps on our Home Page.

  1. Select the type of survey you require
  2. Enter the property price, first part of postcode and your email address
  3. Click ?Get Started?

You can review your choice of survey and then follow the on screen prompts to complete your order.

How long will my survey take?

We aim to carry out your survey within 7 to 10 days from receiving your order, although this will depend on access being made available by the estate agent or vendor and on surveyor workloads. If there is going to be a delay in arranging the inspection which is outside our control we will let you know by email.
NB: (It may not be possible to process orders for surveys received after 5.00pm on a Friday until the following Monday).

Your surveyor will be locally based and have knowledge of the area where the property is situated.

Can I speak with my surveyor before and after the inspection?

You will be provided with your surveyors contact details by email and we would encourage you to speak to them if you have any concerns about the property.

How do I track the progress of my survey?

We will give you a Username and Password to login to the Homebuyer Online website. Here you will be able to view important information about your survey and contact details for your surveyor.

How do I receive my survey report?

When your report is ready, it will be uploaded to the Homebuyer Online website by your surveyor. You will be notified by email when your report is ready for you to view and download. Your report will be in standard PDF format.

Can I cancel my survey and will you refund the cost?

Please contact your surveyor if you wish to cancel your survey and we will refund the cost. If the surveyor has already carried out the Inspection we will not be able to make a refund.

What happens if I have a complaint?

In the unlikely event that you have a complaint you should initially contact your surveyor who may be able to resolve the matter for you quickly. All surveyors have a complaints handling procedure which sets out how they will deal with your complaint and how long it will take.

Your surveyor is also a member of an ombudsman scheme and you will be able to contact this independent body if you are not satisfied with your surveyor?s response to your complaint. The ombudsman scheme will look into the complaint and adjudicate on your behalf.
